Resolvyx to Present Data on Novel Resolvin Drug Candidates for Eye Disease at ARVO Annual Meeting
BEDFORD, Mass., April 24, 2008 -- Resolvyx Pharmaceuticals, Inc., the leading resolvin therapeutics company, today announced that new preclinical data on its resolvin drug candidates will be presented at the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) Annual Meeting in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, being held April 27 to May 1, 2008.
"With a total of eight oral and poster presentations, we are delighted to have such a strong presence at ARVO, which is the premier global ocular meeting," said Per Gjorstrup, Ph.D., M.D., Co-Founder and Chief Medical Officer of Resolvyx. "Due to their unique mechanism of action in resolving inflammation and protecting healthy eye tissue, we have studied resolvins in multiple ocular indications, including retinal and dry eye diseases."

About Resolvins
Resolvins are a recently discovered family of naturally-occurring, small molecule lipid mediators that can be targeted to treat a wide range of diseases. In particular, resolvins act to protect healthy tissue during an immuno-inflammatory response to infection, injury or other environmental challenge, and then act to resolve inflammation and promote healing after the environmental insult has passed.
Resolvins are attractive drug candidates to treat a broad range of acute and chronic diseases caused by a failure to resolve the inflammatory response and restore immune homeostasis. Such diseases include auto-immune diseases (like Crohn's disease, psoriasis and rheumatoid arthritis), allergic diseases (like asthma) and chronic inflammatory disease like atherosclerosis, degenerative retinal diseases, chronic dry eye and Alzheimer's disease. Resolvins offer an entirely novel biological approach to treating significant inflammatory diseases, with a decreased potential for immuno-suppression.
About Resolvyx Pharmaceuticals
Resolvyx Pharmaceuticals is a privately held biotechnology company dedicated to the development and commercialization of novel therapies to treat inflammatory diseases. The company's key technologies are based on small molecules derived from the enzymatic oxidation of omega-3 fatty acids. These small molecules, called resolvins, have been shown to have significant anti- inflammatory effects in multiple models of human disease processes. Resolvyx's drug R&D programs are focused on developing resolvin-based compounds to treat a range of both rare and highly prevalent inflammatory diseases. With its experienced management team, world-class scientists and leading investors, Resolvyx is well-positioned to capitalize on its extensive patent portfolio.
The company's headquarters are in Bedford, Massachusetts. For additional information, please visit http://www.resolvyx.com.
