RX-20001 (NPD1): The protectin, RX-20001, is a naturally occurring, small molecule lipid mediator derived from the omega-3 fatty acid, DHA. In pre-clinical models, RX-20001 has demonstrated highly potent efficacy in models of eye disease, including dry eye, macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. It is also efficacious in models of lung inflammation.
